The solo exhibition Les Rayons et les Ombres at Akio Nagasawa Gallery in Tokyo presents Aurore de La Morinerie’s monotypes inspired by Mediterranean coastal landscapes. This series explores creatures, waves, rocks, and sand, capturing the interplay of light and shadow that defines these environments.
Using ink, watercolor, and ink-wash techniques on traditional etching presses, Aurore translates the essence of the natural world into poetic imagery. Her work invites viewers to look closely, revealing intricate details that emerge slowly, much like discovering hidden marine life along a shoreline.
A publication under the same title accompanies the exhibition, offering further insight into this immersive artistic journey and the meticulous process behind her evocative creations.
